I'd like to donate new books!
We love to have a mix of new and used books on the bus. If you are local, please contact us to arrange your donation. You can also mail books to us: The Free Book Bus, P.O. Box 5025, Charlottesville, VA 22905. We are happy to thank donors in a prominent way, if you would like that. Thank you!
Do you have an Amazon Wish List?
We do! I try to find everything we need here in the community. I do a lot of thrift shopping at Goodwill (10 cent kids books are hard to beat), estate sales and other thrift stores. Our Amazon wish list has items I cannot find locally, like books in Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Spanish and other specialty books. We also add items for the bus that we would like to eventually purchase.
Is there a local alternative?
Yes! We recently created multiple wishlists on the website Bookshop.org. We partner with Bluebird Books, a local bookshop that operates from a vintage camper. If you mention that you are shopping for The Free Book Bus, you will receive a 15% discount on any donated books! Here are links to our wishlists:
